Where is my research "home?"
I feel like a little, lost orphan, wandering outside in the cold, peeking in peoples' windows and wondering if I could see myself fitting in to their world. And I realize that "not all who wander are lost," so maybe I needent feel lost. I could quite enjoy just wandering. But I do - I feel lost.
Where do I fit?

I know exactly how you feel because I feel the same way. For those of us who like to dabble in everything, it is hard to find a research home. Especially since both of us are somewhat interdisciplinary. I was cognitive psychology before I became educational psychology, and you also had a degree in a different field before starting this field. In our attempts to merge the two fields and/or find our niche in our new field, we sometimes flounder. You know, there is one positive to our approach. Others sometimes have their research agenda foisted upon them. But, we pave our own way. I know you will carve your niche. That is what makes your research agenda so incredible.
